With a career spanning over three decades, he has established himself as a prominent recording and performing artist, educator, and has made appearances in films and television. Johnsons distinctive sound and virtuosic skill have made him a sought-after collaborator in the music industry. His film and TV credits include appearances with Jamie Foxx in Ray and PBS with Allen Toussaint, his own bands are known as jazz fusion reminiscent of Stanley Clarke Coltranesque Impressionism and Sun Ra Futurism.Throughout his illustrious career, Johnson has collaborated with a diverse array of artists. He has performed with jazz luminaries such as Delfeayo Marsalis, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and Dr. John.
