Not a listings site. Not another endless calendar. Place to Be is a live radar of the big, interesting, extreme events worth showing up for in cities worldwide, ranked by how hot each one is right now. Land on your own city automatically, or jump to any city on earth.
1.We watch the city, live
Through the day we pull events from real sources: live sports fixtures, ticketing platforms, and city open-data calendars. One clean feed of what is actually happening.
2.We score how hot each spot is
A trendiness score (0-100) is led by crowd size, then venue quality, ticket demand, category and whether an event shows up across multiple sources. Because we do not sell tickets, the rank is honest: the spot at the top is simply where the most people are showing up.
3.One column, ranked
No endless grid. A single column of the places to be, ordered by heat. Filter by category or time, or flip to Global to see the biggest moments worldwide.
4.Save it, get pinged
Sign in to save spots to your own radar and get an alert the moment something in your city lights up. Never find out about the place to be a day too late.
Where the data comes from
Live sports fixtures come from ESPN. Concerts, festivals, nightlife and theatre come from Ticketmaster. Public and municipal cultural programming, the free exhibitions, walks and workshops that ticket feeds never carry, comes from open government data: OpenAgenda across France and Switzerland, and the Ville de Paris "Que faire a Paris" feed. National holidays come from Nager.Date, and venue ratings from Google. We do not invent events: if a spot is on the board, a published feed listed it, or the team added it by hand and it is marked as ours. Paris open data is published by the Ville de Paris under the ODbL licence, and OpenAgenda under the Licence Ouverte.
Questions
How does Place to Be rank events?
Every event gets a 0-100 trendiness score led by crowd size, then venue quality, ticket demand, category, and whether it shows up across multiple sources. The spot at the top is simply where the most people are showing up.
Is the ranking pay-to-rank?
No. Place to Be does not sell tickets and takes no cut, so nothing can buy a higher spot. The rank is honest by design, and that neutrality is the whole point.
Where does the event data come from?

How often does the radar update?
The radar refreshes automatically through the day, every couple of hours, and again while people are browsing. Nothing on the board is a stored guess: every spot came from a feed that listed it.
