Mahmoud Chouki Cigar Box ProjectMahmoud , "rdquo" -> Mood" Chouki is a Moroccan master guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator currently living and working in New Orleans. His art draws together music from around the globe. In addition to training and performing with conservatories around the world, Chouki also teaches music at the Lycée Français de la Nouvelle Orléans and is the music curator for the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). Most recently, he composed the music score for the 2021 Sundance Award winning film, , "rdquo" -> Ma Belle, Ma Beauty." Chouki was also awarded 2020's , "rdquo" -> Best Emerging Artist" by OffBeat Magazine's annual Best of the Beat Awards. His New World Ensemble has been steadily gaining acclaim, earning him Gambit Weekly's 2022 "Best World Music Artist'' Award at their annual Big Easy Awards. For this performance, Mahmoud and his band will play with handmade instruments including a cigarbox guitar and trash kit drums. Tonight, Chouki presents his cigar box project, featuring: Mahmoud Chouki - cigarbox oud, cigarbox guitar Brett Gardner - cigarbox guitar Rurik Nunan - cigarbox violin Ben Fox - wine box Bass Jafet Perez - trash kit drums Shows at 7:30pm & 9:30pm Doors at 7:00pm & 9:00pm Restuarant is Open 5pm - 10pm for dinner before or after your showtime: Advance Ticket Holders can now automatically make dinner table reservations for the Dining Room online via OpenTable.com ! Dinner Service without Advance Concert Tickets is first-come, first-served based on availability upon arrival. Full Bar is Open 5pm - Midnight for all, on show nights, with or without tickets. Kind Reminder: Snug Harbor does NOT serve the full menu inside the Music Room. We do offer cheese and charcuterie tray options. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
