Its one part mystery audio drama, one part musical, all parts uh equal parts um private parts whatever, its hilarious! Featuring a full jazz band, an original script and songs, and a twenty-person cast and crew, The Spectral Silhouette is an ambitious production from the Chicagoland area that recreates the magic of pulpy old-time radio shows like The Shadow and blends that stereo stardust with modern sensibilities and humor. Youll laugh! Youll chuckle! Youll guffaw!So, whats it about? Well, a clever but somewhat bumbling detective named Monty Eldritch is shot during an armed robbery. Legally dead for five minutes, he shakes the cold grip of the Grim Reaper with the aid of medical professionals. When he regains consciousness, he finds that he can hear the voice of a deceased mobster named Sil. The two agree to work together to find Sils murderers in exchange for assistance with Montys cases. Aided by his trigger-happy partner, Penny Aster, and otherworldly insights from his ghostly ally, Monty becomes the SpectralSilhouette.Sponsored by Skeleton Key Brewery in Woodridge, Illinois, Silhouette started as a one-off production that grew in size and popularity over the years due to word of mouth.
