Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble brings the ancient sounds of Dunhuang to life through a captivating fusion of tradition and innovation. Inspired by the musical manuscripts and murals preserved in the Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Library Cave, the Ensemble reimagines lost melodies for today's audiences. Founded in Hong Kong in 2018, the Ensemble brings together resident composers and core musicians to create Chinese chamber music that bridges Eastern and Western cultures. Through original works based on 25 ancient Dunhuang musical scores from Mogao Cave 17, the performance combines music, visual storytelling, and art-tech integration to offer a unique cultural experience. Dedicated to preservation, innovation, and education, the Ensemble shares the beauty of Dunhuang heritage with audiences around the world. Only ages 6+ admitted.
