A live music night on the radar.

Melt-Banana have been charting their own course for decades. Since emerging from Tokyo in the 1990s, the duo of Yasuko Onuki and Ichiro Agata have developed a sonic universe that draws equally from noise, hardcore, grindcore and punk as it does from pop, electronics and experimental music. The result is a band that has consistently defied genre classifications, creating a sound that can only be described as unmistakably Melt-Banana. Through an extensive discography and countless tours around the world, they have earned an almost legendary status among audiences and fellow musicians alike. This is reflected in collaborations with and recognition from artists such as John Zorn, Mike Patton, Melvins, Wire and Lou Reed. Live, Melt-Banana transform into an explosive force. Agata's guitar work sends sonic fragments flying in every direction, while Yako's distinctive vocals move between piercing outbursts, rhythmic patterns and surprisingly melodic passages. All of it is supported by a massive and razor-sharp rhythm section that has become an integral part of the duo's digital approach over the years. Their latest album, '3+5' from 2024, continues the uncompromising artistic development that has defined the band throughout their career. Still aggressive, still curious and still searching for new paths forward. When Melt-Banana take the stage, it is more than just a concert. It is an intense demonstration of how far rock music can be stretched without losing its immediate impact. Standing room only. If advance tickets are sold out, there will also be no tickets available at the door. Doors open one hour before showtime. Amager Bio Accessibility/Wheelchair Users: Please purchase a standard ticket. A limited number of companion tickets are available. A valid companion card must be presented at the venue.
